Duties And Powers of the Governing Body

  1. The duties and powers of the governing body shall be subject to the provisions of the rules and regulations of the society.
  2. The governing body shall have power to raise funds and to purchase properties (moveable or immoveable) for and on behalf of the society.
  3. The governing body shall have full charge of and control over all immoveable properties belonging to or vested in the society in such manner as it may think fit and the same shall be handled through the president, general secretary and treasurer.
  4. The governing body shall have power to invest the funds of the society in such manner as may deem fit and shall have power to borrow or mortgage or hypothecate the properties of the society on behalf of the society and the same shall be handled through the president, general secretary and treasurer or as may be decided by the governing body.
  5. The governing body shall have power to open, maintain, close such bank accounts in the name of the society as it may deem necessary. The bank accounts shall be operated by president or general secretary jointly with treasurer.
  6. The governing body shall have power to constitute one or more committees of members to further the objects of the society.
